The Palisades Fire swept across the Pacific Palisades, near Los Angeles, California, in January of 2025 and burned for over three weeks, destroying or damaging over 7,800 structures across 37 square miles. Among the structures badly damaged was the Palisades Village, a lifestyle and retail destination. The mall was subsequently closed for 19 months as it underwent a $100 million+ renovation with a grand reopening on August 15, 2026. Among the stores that were renovated was Reformation, which was built with a condensed schedule to open up with the grand reopening.

Elder-Jones’ team of project manager Drew Hirsch, assistant project manager Bennett Baillargeon, and jobsite superintendent Darrell Autry led the project. This Reformation store was a hybrid design build, to keep some of the old Reformation aesthetic but also upgrade the store to the new higher-end style of the Palisades Village mall. Some of the features of the new design include a custom flagstone floor, that required every piece to be hand broken to fit, a full mirror wall with mirror wrapped shelves, and a magic wardrobe fitting room system that took 2 weeks to fully set up. And with over 35 remodels and mall construction all happening at once, there were long lead times for inspections and tight timelines with so many working alongside each other to hit the hard grand reopening date.

The E-J team was thrilled to turn-over this beautiful new store in the gorgeous new Palisades Village mall, and so happy to see the Pacific Palisades area coming back to life after such a devastating time.
