The Elder-Jones team of project manager Drew Hirsch, assistant project manager Bennett Baillargeon, and jobsite superintendent Thomas Darby recently completed our first project with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Akron, Ohio. It was an open restaurant remodel of an existing space, where the team upgraded their sales area, dining area, and drive-thru. The donut production area never stopped running at the restaurant during the project, to provide donut deliveries to other locations, so the team got creative to ensure continued and smooth operations. After the first 4 weeks, they were able to finish and reopen the drive-thru so customers could resume getting their donuts at that location. The team had to rework the barricade a few times to give Krispy Kreme more space as the project progressed. Thomas was able to work with the onsite team to ensure a smooth transition for reopening the drive-thru while they were still under construction on the sales and dining room side, and ultimately turn over a beautifully updated space. This was our first project with Krispy Kreme, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with another project underway in Melbourne, Florida!
