Featured Project: Escape Lounges at Tulsa International Airport

Escape Lounges

Doing a project in an airport presents a whole new set of challenges, on top of what is already typical of an active and fast-paced construction site! The Elder-Jones team of project manager Drew Hirsch, assistant project manager Bennett Baillargeon, and jobsite superintendent Jeff Welch recently completed a new Escape Lounges inside the Tulsa International Airport and tackled these challenges head-on. This new airport lounge space is right outside of the TSA security lines and throughout the project the team had to be sensitive to working in and near public and sterile areas. All major material deliveries had to go through a TSA drug sniffing dog process before the team could bring them into the jobsite. During the project the team also tackled a major redesign of half of the space due to airport rules and regulations. And being in an airport just means more entities than normal to coordinate with, all with varying rules. But despite the additions to the process, the team successfully worked together to tackle all the challenges! We are grateful for the opportunity to help bring E-J’s first project with Escape Lounges to life, and look forward to our next partnership.
